Agustín Cocola-Gant is a FCT Research Fellow at the Centre of Geographical Studies, University of Lisbon. He holds a PhD in Human Geography from Cardiff University and a PhD in Art History from University of Barcelona. His current project explores the intersection between tourism and gentrification and pays particular attention to the impacts of holiday rentals as well as the development of tourism in residential areas. He is exploring those issues in Barcelona and Lisbon. In 2013 he was researcher at the Spanish Academy in Rome where he conducted the project “The politics of the past in fascist Rome”.
