The SMARTDEST project started in January 2020 and tackles the challenge of social sustainability in European cities by developing innovative planning solutions in the face of the externalities caused by tourism mobilities. It is formed by a consortium of 12 universities that received a €3,000,000 research grant from the EU’s Horizon 2020 Programme. The project is led by Paolo Russo from University Rovira I Virgili. I am the project’s lead partner of my institution (IGOT-UL). More details: smartdest.eu
